Malaks scoliosis rehabilitation
Donation protected
This is my 12 year old Niece Malak.
Malak lives at the outskirts of Algiers, Algeria.
18 months ago Malak was diagnosed with scoliosis. The current curve is 68% (see CT scan)
When Malak was diagnosed her curve was just 45 degrees and even a special brace was worn for about 23 hours per day, it didn’t prevent the condition to worsen in very short time.
The doctor has recommended to operate as soon as possible.
The spinal fusion surgery will take place at the end of July at the Al Azhar clinic in Algiers .
Whilst the costs for the surgery are covered, I’m starting this fundraiser to enable Malak to have the best chance of rehabilitation & recovery.
The funds are needed for:
As previously mentioned the costs for the surgery are covered but that doesn’t include the hospital stay after the surgery .
The surgery will take approximately 4 hours . It is recommend to stay between 4 to 8 days in the hospital post surgery to manage the pain via IV and also ensure the patient has assistance in regaining strength in sitting up & walking.

On behalf of Malak and her parents , thank you for taking the time to read.
Please donate and share to help Malak to recover from this life changing surgery so she can lead a normal life.
Thank you .
Silvana
