Malachi’s Recovery Fund

Hi my name is Alissa. Im starting this fundraiser on behalf of my 4year old son Malachi. Malachi born February 14th 2018 with a rare codition called Tracheoesophageal fistula. His esophagus divided into two pieces w/ his top piece connected to his trachea. His condition doesn’t allow him to eat orally it would go directly into his lungs so he required a G and J tube for feedings. Hospitalized for months and multiple procedures at Ann & Robert.H Luries Children’s Hospital. After long stays they decided it would be best of he went home w/ biweekly to monthly dialations hoping it will get better as he got older. Realizing things weren’t going as planned they had to regroup and came up with the last option. Malachi one of the sweetest boy you could ever meet was admitted November 16th back at Luries for a major procedure called a Esophagus Replacement. The following morning he under went a 15 hour procedure where they opened his chest and stomach. Taking out 80% of his esophagus and replacing it with 20% of his intestines. He was in a induced coma but as of now they just got him sedated and 100% on ventilator. Malachi a fighter loves unconditionally. Always having a smile on his face as if he’s never had a bad day. Healing time is projected to be months atleast but he will also need to go to short term home w/ therapy after. Living at the hospital and still trying to maintain a household is physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially has been rough. So anything helps even if it’s just a share.
