Malachi's Cancer Fight #GoGoldMalachi
Donation protected
On Thursday September 7th, Jessica and Ethan’s world turned upside down when their 1-year-old son Malachi was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Malachi wasn’t acting like his normal cheerful self that week and his color was a bit yellow, so Jessica took him up to Children’s hospital in Springdale to have him checked out. She thought he might need some fluids or something simple like that, but unfortunately his blood tests showed something much worse. The doctor got on her knees in front of Jessica and said the words that is every parents’ worst nightmare. “Your son has cancer”. He was life flighted to Little Rock where he has been doing chemotherapy and getting many blood infusions. We learned that the cancer has spread into his spine and will require more frequent Lumbar punctures (spinal taps) at Children’s Hospital than we originally expected. Malachi will continue his chemo treatments once a month and spinal taps twice a month, for the next 3 or so years. Malachi has a long journey ahead of him and his parents are going to need all the love and support they can get from their friends and family. Jessica will be caring for Malachi fulltime at home and will no longer be able to work outside the home. They have already recieved a lot of items needed to take care of him, so we are creating this page to help Jessica and Ethan anyway we can. We appreciate all the prayers and kind words, and are making sure to read all your messages to Malachi to let him know how much he is loved. Malachi is such a strong loving little boy, and he WILL beat this terrible disease. Again, thank you to everyone for being there for our sweet boy.
