Malachi's Medical Fund
Donation protected
On January 24th our 18 year old son, Malachi, was in a very serious auto accident. He was a backseat passenger when the car lost control on a dirt road near his high school in Bennett, CO. He was ejected from the vehicle causing immediate life threatening injuries. He was Flight for Life to University Colorado Hospital almost losing him three times. Malachi was in surgery initially for 7 hours upon arrival. Surgeons had to remove a lobe of one of his lungs and put sponges around his liver to stop his massive bleeding. For two days afterward we weren't sure if Malachi would live.

However, Malachi is a fighter and since those first two days he has made constant steady progress in trauma ICU. He has had to power through 9 surgeries up to this point in his recovery to correct his liver, lungs, kidney, pelvis, tibia, sacrum, lower spine, clavicle, humorus, scapula and has had surgeries for compartmentilization in his lower leg.
Even though Malachi has constant pain all over his body, he has a positive attitude.

Malachi won't be able to put any pressure on his feet for 3 months nor stand/walk for a year and a half. Malachi will be needing constant care and help during his long recovery including physical therapy and rehab.

We are raising money for Malachi to help cover the costs of physical therapy and rehab, transportation, work loss, wheel chair, medical equipment, medical bed and any future costs to help get Malachi's life back on track.
Currently, Malachi lives with his mom and step dad, along with his three siblings in an apartment on the second level in Denver. Because of his injuries we will be needing to move to a one level house ASAP to accommodate his physical needs. Part of the funds will help with the moving costs and making the new house wheel chair accessible.
Malachi is overwhelmed by love and support from friends and family, so any donation, big or small, will be incredibly appreciated as he tries to cope with this.
Thank you all!
