Malachi Walking to Roverway

Hi, my name is Malachi and I am raising funds for my Roverway adventure in summer 2024.

Roverway is a European Scout Jamboree which takes place every 3 to 6 years. For nearly two weeks I will be camping in Stavanger, Norway. There I will cook on open fires, take part in a range of activities, learn about other cultures and make friends from around the world. I will be one of only 36 Scottish Scouts attending as part of the UK contingent. I was lucky to take part in an international camp at Blair Atholl in July 2022; this camp gave me the opportunity to try new things, form lifelong friendships and gain the confidence to apply for other camps like it. I'm looking forward to experiencing that again.

To raise funds for my trip I have decided to "walk to Roverway". Stavanger, Norway is approx 570km (354 miles) from my home in the Highlands of Scotland. Between now and the end of the year, I will be covering this distance on foot by walking around the Highlands. And that's not all – on all of my walks I will be wearing a kilt!

Please follow along with me as I traverse the forests and the bogs of the north all in a kilt. I'll be posting photos and videos from each of my walks with an update on how far I've walked, and how far there's left to go.
