HELP US SUSTAIN + SUPPORT OUR FAIR TRADE COOPERATIVE OF WOMEN ARTISANS IN THE PHILIPPINES
We started Mala and Mantra six years ago with the intention to consciously create mindful jewelry and accessories while empowering women artisans through wellness.

We are grateful to have met our talented group of women artisans in the Philippines in 2009. The multipurpose cooperative founded in 2002 has nearly doubled in size to 22 women since they began making jewelry + accessories for Mala and Mantra. Through the production of our products we are able to assist these women by creating sustainable income and a safe working environment for them.
Due to COVID-19, the Philippines has been in a national lockdown since March 16th and our women's cooperative was shut down. Since then our women artisans have been unable to work and have no income.
Our women were already resource poor prior to this global pandemic so without the income from our jewelry production they are struggling to say the least. These women are the sole income earners for their families so we would like to ensure during the lockdown we can continue to sustain them through sending funds.
Since the Philippines extended their lockdown until at least May 15th, they still cannot even work from home so sending them funds to help them during this time is critical for their livelihood. Even after the lockdown lifts it will take quite some time for the infrastructure and logistics to get back up and running so our women can get the supplies they need to restart the production process.
We would like to ask you to HELP US HELP THEM during this difficult time.
Your donation will help to ensure our fair trade cooperative stays in business and continues to produce products which provide our women artisans with sustainable income. Whatever help you can provide helps our artisans keep themselves and their families fed and with shelter.
Here's an idea of what your donation can provide one of our women artisans:
$21.00 = Food to feed one artisan and her family for a week
$45.00 = Food to feed one artisan and her family for a half of a month
$93.00 = Food to feed one artisan and her family for a month
And an idea of how your gift can help our entire women's cooperative:
$66.00 = Food to feed all of our artisans and their families for one day
Our Go Fund Me fundraising goal is to raise $2,000.00 USD which would feed all of our women artisans and their families for one month.
Even a small donation can go along way to help provide basic needs for this talented group of women. Please watch our video to see the faces behind our jewelry, the women who hand-craft each piece to perfection with their skill, dedication, and hard-work.
We realize these are uncertain as well as financially challenging times for everyone, any help you can provide to this fundraising campaign will be greatly appreciated and put to very good use.
Due to the magnitude that COVID-19 has had on our world and on our women artisans, we did not hesitate to put this fund together in hopes to help them.
All funds raised will be sent directly to the our women's cooperative in the Philippines.
With deep gratitude,
