Dear friends, neighbors, and extended family of Makwa. It is with a heavy heart that we seek your attention for a brief moment to respond to our loving plea for contributions in this time of difficulty.

Beloved canine companion to Emily and all her kin, Makwa, aka Mak, aka Boppy, aka Boba, aka The Boi, is having to go to the big important vet for big important doggy heckin health.

Yes, THAT Makwa, the enchanting shadow, ardent adventurer, fierce protector, loyal lil guy. The same one who randomly decided he had an appetite for candles one day - that was another vet visit. But that one was not as emotional as the time we learned thru x-ray that Makwa still carries three projectiles in his body from violence he was subjected to in his previous life.

Yes, it is sad to share that The boi has the lymphomas and needs chemotherapy. He has already begun treatment and is responding well. Otherwise he is very much his same doggone good boi self.

Mak is currently staying with his loving Aunt and Uncle, who are giving him the absolute best care and proper snacks through this time. All proceeds for this 6-month chemotherapy journey that lies ahead of him will go to Rose and Tom, and we graciously invite contributions of any amount from those of you who have the available means to help cushion the severity of this expenditure.

The treatment we are opting for is the most aggressive, and comes with a positive success rate. Even some of Makwa's own doggy friends have gone on to have many splendid years with their people after completing these same procedures, giving us the hope that our Boba boi will continue to prance his little Grinch feet all over our world for as long as possible.

Makwa requests no interviews at his time, but we assure you he is thinking of you, and all the food he could convince you to share with him.
