Mako Paddle Club's New Dragon Boat

Mako Paddle Club is Australia's newest dragon boat club. We are fortunate enough to paddle the beautiful waters of Jervis Bay (NSW). Our club started with a ‘ready for the scrap heap’ dragon boat for $250 with paddles donated from across the dragon boat community. The club has grown from 2 members to a vibrant community club of over 50 members.
The problem is - our oldest boat, good old #5 is so water-logged and heavy it's becoming a risk for our members to lift and launch it. Unlike city clubs who paddle assocoation boats, country crews need to purchase their boats and that is our mission.
Mako is actively fundraising to build the $17,000 needed to purchase a new boat, but our seaside community has limited opportunities to fundraise, so to the world, we ask..help please. We'll raise half the money and just need a hand with the other half.
