Hello. As many of you know, my mom, Pam Haan, has lived with MS for about 10 years. She had lived mostly symptom free since being diagnosed back in 2015, but unfortunately, in January of this year, she suffered a big MS flare up and a stroke shortly after. These two events caused my mom to go in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation centers for the past 3 months. She is still in a rehabilitation center working on gaining her strength in her right arm and leg back and her speech. As of right now and for the foreseen future she is wheelchair bound and requires assistance with everyday living activities.
I know she misses seeing her CSD family and thank you to the staff that have been able to come see her so far. Seeing familiar faces is always good motivation for her to continue to get stronger.
My Dad and I are currently working on selling their house, so they can move into a smaller one closer to me in Kannapolis. They have found a great home, but it is not completely wheelchair accessible. A ramp has to be installed, the main shower has to be replaced with a wheelchair accessible one, the washer and dryer need to be moved, and the carpet would need to be replaced with laminate flooring for the wheelchair to roll; all of this on top of the need for professional caregivers.
If you are able to donate any amount of money to help us make this home safe and accessible home for my Mom, we would deeply appreciate it. As home modifications are the greatest area of need right now to make her transition from rehab to home safe. We just want her to feel comfortable and safe while she continues her recovery journey at home.
Thank you for all your thoughts a prayers.
Love,
Jeff & Andrea Haan
