The change and beginning of a journey by chance and choice of decision making

So today I’m am sharing the news that at of 43 I have by chance and great thorough check up from my general practitioner an abnormality on my right breast was found.

A day later a cancellation appointment came up for a mammogram and ultrasound which I accepted and three hours later I was called back into the drs surgery and given the news I had been referred to a breast surgeon due to all my scans indicating lesions and growths in both breasts and lymph nodes of cancer.

After urgent biopsies and scans confirmation of my diagnosis has been completed and that I have in fact two different strains in each breast ‘Could I get anymore complex’

My treating team although I am still meeting many are absolutely fantastic and I am feeling informed with all decisions and treatment I will be undergoing over the next 12 months chemotherapy and mastectomy of both breasts with radiation and hormone replacement therapy

I feel very supported by my family friends and colleagues although this path and patient journey for myself will be a road I have never travelled before

unfortunately I’m not of preservation age of of terminal illness to access my superannuation to clean up some bills and make some expenses a little easier as planned

But I will get through this process each day at a time celebrating the little milestones one cycle at a time because I have so much to be grateful for my daughter my number one supporter but to all others who are or know of anyone who is enduring this or has courage and strength
