Hi my name is Catherine Dempsey and with their permission I am setting up this Go Fund Me to raise funds for my friend Karl and his wife Linda.
Their son Kyle who is only 15 has just been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). As you can imagine this has rocked the family to the core. Kyle has 2 siblings Aaron & Layla, Kyle being the middle child. From the start Kyle arrived into the world early a tiny bundle of joy, he was the most perfect baby. Kyle has many interests from Darts to F1 to Play Station. Kyle has a shared love for Manchester United which he shares with his Grandad Martin, Dad and brother Aaron. He is the most kind and caring boy he loves to see his family happy. Whenever there is a birthday in the house Kyle always makes sure there is cake and not only 1 cake but 2 every time (this stems from his Grandad Colm's bakery). Kyle's new obsession is Penny the Horse the newest addition to the Kane family, as you can see above he loves to spend time in the stables with his little sister looking after Penny and making sure shes happy.
Kyle started to struggle with walking a few months ago, Linda and Karl brought him to the family doctor and from there they went to the hospital where Kyle had to have a lot of tests done. After extensive CT Scans, MRI's & X rays there was nothing showing up!
Linda took Kyle and his sister on holidays at the beginning of the summer she had to bring a wheelchair for Kyle as he was unable to walk even a short distance. Over the holiday Linda noticed a decline in Kyle's mobility. When they came home Kyle was re admitted to hospital and it was agreed they would have a Genetic Test done that would be sent to Germany. On the 01/09/2026 Karl & Linda received the most devastating news any parent could receive.
A diagnoses of MND and a life expectancy of only 12 to 18 months.
The purpose of this Go Fund Me is that in the little time Kyle has we can raise funds for the family to make as many happy and lasting memories as possible.
Can you please share this post/link far and wide and if you are in a position to donate we would be very grateful.
Many thanks and we will continue to give updates.
Catherine.
