Making memories for the Tracey family

In 2018 my friend Nic was sadly diagnosed with a rare type of breast cancer  (triple negative) aged 38. Nic named her lump Donald Trump and  in her words " I thought of something that was annoying and that you wanted to be eradicated" 6 rounds of FEC-T chemo with carboplatin, a single mastectomy with full node clearance and 15 rounds of radiotherapy.  Donald was gone for good!! Nic went back to work shortly after treatment and a year after was ready for a breast reconstruction in March 2020 . 



Then during lockdown, her reconstruction was cancelled and in April 2020 Nic was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 breast cancer that had spread to the brain. Two tumours named 'Petit' and 'Pois' were found and treated with a craniotomy and radiotherapy.  The treatment was successful but unfortunately scans in August 2020 had shown the cancer had spread to the lung, neck and chest lymph nodes.

Nic started chemotherapy and immunotherapy, initial results at Christmas were good with clear brain scans and reduced activity in the chest. Unfortunately cancer becomes resistant to chemo - especially triple negative breast cancer and scans in April 2021 have shown the cancer has spread in her brain again, another large brain tumour and devastatingly there are numerous small lesions including some in the brain lining which are incredibly difficult to treat and prognosis for Nic is now just months.

No one knows how long but with treatment all we can do is hope for the best quality of life for as long as possible. 


So in the mean time it would be amazing to raise some money so that Nic, Rob, Jess and Charlie can do lots of fun and memorable things whilst Nic is still well enough. The money will also help with seeking second opinions and possible treatment options if they become available.







My name is Ellie, I've known Nic since we became neighbours 11 years ago when we were both pregnant with our second daughters. Nic became more than a neighbour (Even though she was called "next door Nic" on my contacts for many years.) and we became great friends. Both of our girls are the same age which created that instant bond and connection. 
Lockdown was very hard at the beginning, not being able to visit and just give Nic a huge hug was heart breaking no doubt I speak for us all. I felt very useless as a friend and wanted to offer another way of support. 
Nic is a very special and incredible friend, to help her and her family make memories is one of the best ways to give back the love and support she has always given to me.
