Emilia's Fight
Donation protected
If you'd have asked how everything was in January.......everything was amazing. Our friends, Paul and Rachel, had 2 very healthy and happy little girls, Emilia and Hanna. After a great Christmas and New Year.....life was good.
Then February came and this is when things started to get worrying. After multiple tests, their world was turned upside down as the family received some devastating news. Their 8 year old daughter, Emilia, was diagnosed with soft tissue Sarcoma which has spread to her bone marrow and other areas of her body. This has left her needing life saving treatment which has taken its toll on the family both emotionally and financially.
Due to the severity of her diagnosis, the treatment plan for Emilia started really quickly and she had her first round of chemotherapy in February......not long after the initial diagnosis was made.
The first course of chemotherapy will last for 27 weeks, which means Emilia will be continually in and out of the hospital until October. I'm sure you can imagine how draining this is for Emilia and also for the parents, Paul and Rachel, and Emilia's younger sister Hanna.
Emilia is a gentle soul who is taking everything in her stride, even when she lost her beloved hair (which she was trying so hard to grow) she could see the positives in the fact that she got to try on so many different wigs and received so many beautiful hats which she loves dearly.
All the family want to do is spend time with their daughter while she is receiving treatment and make sure she has everything that she needs with everyone around her. We would like to raise money towards a holiday so they have something to look forward to and make happy memories.
Over the next few months, as a collective, we will be running several fundraisers to help raise money to help the family through these difficult times. As Paul and Rachel's friends, we have set up this page and kindly ask if you can donate what you can to help the family.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, will go towards making family memories .......Thank you in advance for anything you can donate.
