Making Martha Mobile

Hi,  My name is Andrea and I have started this GoFundMe on behalf of one of the most inspirational women I have ever met.

Martha Kenes is a dear friend of mine who has suffered some of the worst hardships in life, but she has remained strong in her faith and has the support of her friends and family.

9 years ago, Martha was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. After being told that surgery was her best option, she had a full hysterectomy, but was still in need of radiation. With the hope that this would cure her cancer, she underwent this procedure, but it was this radiation that destroyed her hip joints and caused her lymphedema. Within the year, her cancer had metastasized. She now had tumors in her lungs, stage 4 endometrial cancer.

Martha's doctors gave her 2 years to live, but she has beaten the odds and is still fighting! But her fight needs your help!

Recently, Martha joined our Physical Therapy team at MOST.  During her time with MOST, Martha has been able to use the metro for transportation to and from work because it is wheelchair accessible, but with the center moving to a new location, Martha is in need of a handicap accessible van to be able to complete her daily commute. All of the years of chemotherapy and radiation have left her unable to walk independently and it would be a blessing to help Martha continue her journey to living an independent life. All donations to this gofundme will go towards helping Martha purchase a handicap accessible van.

Martha inspires our team with her determination and willpower to be active and mobile and any donation that can be spared is a blessing.
