Earlier this year, my life changed completely when I was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive high-grade neuroendocrine ovarian carcinoma cancer.

Since then, I’ve undergone two major surgeries and completed 24 chemotherapy infusions over six months.

I genuinely believed that finishing chemotherapy would be the beginning of getting my life back.

Unfortunately, we have now received the news we were desperately hoping not to hear.

The chemotherapy hasn’t worked.

They have given me a life expectancy of under 12 months without treatment.

I was already on the best treatment for this cancer, to hear it hasnt worked has gutted me.

I’m now facing a completely different chapter.

My oncology team has told me they are going to throw everything they can at this. We are looking at possibilities including more chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and other treatments. We are currently waiting for further opinions from Peter Mac to determine what comes next.

I am not giving up

I have told my doctors that I will travel anywhere in Australia, and even overseas if necessary, to access treatment that could give me more time.

I want to fight.

I want to live.

I am a mum and a wife. My husband and my children are my entire world.

The thought of my children having to watch their mum go through this is something I can't put into words. And while I am still fighting with everything I have, I also want to make sure we don't spend all of our time waiting for the next appointment, the next scan or the next treatment.

I want to take my family on holidays.

I want to see places we've always talked about visiting.

I want to make memories that my children can carry with them forever.

I want photographs, adventures, silly moments, family dinners, beach days, road trips and all the little things that suddenly feel so incredibly important.

The funds raised will help our family with the costs of travelling for treatment if needed, accessing treatments and appointments, and, most importantly, creating lasting memories together while I continue this fight.

I know there are no guarantees.

I don't know what the next treatment will bring.

I don't know how long this journey will be.

But I do know that I am not ready to give up, and I want to make every day count.
