Kelvins Story:
Unfortunately kelvin as been diagnosed with his 3rd different cancer at the age of 15.. he is currently on steroid treatment & chemo but is waiting to start treatment due a line infection resulting in his broviac line being removed then a blood clot being found in his chest. He's now on a 6 week course of blood thinners 2 injections each day, a huge dosage of antibiotics each day plus open wounds on his chest where his line as been removed that needs to be cleaned & dressed daily all before he can restart treatment for the leukaemia.

Kelvin was initially diagnosed with non hodgkins lymphoma at 18 months old after 5 weeks in hospital fighting pneumonia, broncolitous, swine flu & rota virus.. he was given an anti viral med which he had an allergic reaction to & was rush to intensive care later being moved to hdu when he was placed in a coma for 2 weeks to give his body time yo recover, it was there that a mass was discovered in the roof of his mouth a biopsy was taken which came back as cancer after a mri a tumour was found in his sinuse which had grown through the roof of his mouth & into his lungs it was stage 3 when they found it & he was given the diagnosis on christmas eve 2010.. he then went through a two & half year treatment plan of chemotherapy & steroids.. he got the all clear in February 2018 as he had to go 5 year all in all in remission before being classed as all clear.. fast forward 5 weeks & his mum noticed a red rash & swelling in his neck,, their gp sent them straight to hospital & within hours he received his second diagnosis of ALL, (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia) he was transferred to Sheffield where chemotherapy & steroid treatment began straight away.. the hospital team removed tissue samples to do genetic testing to look for underlying conditions that caused a secondary cancer, every thing came back as normal,, kelvin rang the end of treatment bell in 2021 & as been very well, started school at a sen school as he as autism aswell & was living a normal life.
Fast forward to may this year when Lauren kelvins mum noticed a red rash again she automatically knew what it was & feared the leukaemia had relapsed, she took his to Sheffield children’s a&e & told them her suspicions, the doctors rushed blood tests through & a couple of hours later was given the heart breaking news that kelvins leukaemia was back AGAIN.
Bone marrow was taken in theater & tests have been done & the results show its not a relapse but a 3rd different cancer which is now looking like it’s definitely something in his genetics..
The family had to wait 5 weeks for testing to be done on the leukaemia cells to determine a treatment plan.. he as done 6 weeks of steroid treatment & chemotherapy treatment & was due to start the blinatumomab (immunotherapy treatment) as his heart & liver are too weak from previous treatments to with stand a full course of chemotherapy.
Kelvin will receive two 4 week treatments of blinatumomab treatment which is running continuously for 4 weeks each time he will have to carry a backpack with him with the machine running for the full 4 weeks then a 2 week break then another 4 week of blinatumomab. He will then have chemo & radio in preparation for a bone marrow transplant.

I am raising money to help Kelvin and the family make this 3rd battle with cancer as easy as possible! Your donations will go towards everything from getting Kelvin all the snacks and treats he wants, going places he wants and to help his parents with things like fuel going back and fourth to the hospital, time out of work to look after Kel and stay in hospital with him when it occurs and things like that.

Just a little something to make everything happening a little easier and some light in this dark situation.

they didn’t ask to do this, nor enthusiastic about my idea to do this for them as they didn’t want to feel like they are “begging” especially with times being so hard for everyone right now. but I’ve convinced them and sometimes we all need a helping hand. I’ve been there many times in my life over the years.

this money won’t cure Kelvin from cancer but it sure will make his journey less stressful and more enjoyable whilst he deals with all that he has to right now.

Help me, help them. Any contribution means a lot. Thank you for reading this story. Donating or even considering to. God bless.

Kindest Regards, Harry.
