Hi, my name is Kristen, and I’m raising funds for my sister, Jami, who has been hospitalized since February 3rd after a sudden and life-changing medical crisis. Doctors currently believe she may be facing Multiple Sclerosis, and in just a matter of days, her world has completely changed — including the temporary loss of her ability to walk.
Jami has always been the person everyone turns to for help. She is the one who shows up, listens, supports, and gives without hesitation. Seeing someone who has spent her life caring for others now facing such a difficult and uncertain journey has been heartbreaking for our family.
As she prepares to come home from the hospital next week, we are facing unexpected challenges. Her insurance has refused to cover essential mobility equipment and home modifications she now urgently needs just to safely live in her own home.
To make her home accessible and allow her to begin recovery with dignity and independence, we are trying to raise funds for:
• A wheelchair ramp so she can safely enter and leave her home — $3,000
• Converting her first-floor laundry room into a walk-in shower so she can bathe safely — $5,500
• A wheelchair and necessary mobility aids — $1,000
These changes are not luxuries — they are necessities that will allow Jami to return home, continue treatment, and focus on healing instead of worrying about how she will manage everyday life.
While this chapter has been incredibly difficult, we remain hopeful. Jami is strong, determined, and surrounded by people who love her deeply. With the right support and rehabilitation, we believe she has a real chance to regain independence and rebuild her life step by step.
If you are able to donate, no amount is too small and every contribution brings her closer to coming home safely. If donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to read Jami’s story and for helping us lift up someone who has spent her life lifting others.
