Hello all,
On July 4th weekend my son, Maxwell (Rashad) was in a horrific car accident that almost took his life, but by God's grace and mercy he's still here fighting. The accident was so servere it caused him to break almost every bone on the left side of his body.
Maxwell was hit by a drunk driver. The initial hit was to the driver side door which then caused Maxwell to travel across someone's yard and then hit their house head on. He was in a coma for almost a month, BUT BY THE POWER OF GOD!! MY GOD, MY GOD he has since opened his eyes, and today I'm so forever grateful for that, and during that time, as a mother I've decided to be by my son's side everyday and night, which caused me to walk away from my job. I have received one check since my 6 weeks, so far of absence from work, and on top of that, I've been notified that after Maxwell's release (which is no time soon) my home has to be handicap equipped for the time being.
This is going to be very hard for us because I live in a 3 /2 .5 townhouse and the bedrooms are upstairs. Thank God for a downstairs bathroom. This means he will not be able to walk upstairs for some time. So then my living room will now be his bedroom during his 1yr recovery. With that said I'm asking for donations to make this happen for us. Big or small, your help is so graciously appreciated.. funds will be used for but not limited to
Bed with lifts
Bed Sheets
Bedside toilet
Shower chair
Circulating stockings
Motorized chair
Wheel chair
Trach towels
Trach straps
Back brace
Walker
Hospital gowns
Bed pads
Hand grips
Cane
Hospital socks w/ grip
Toilet stool lift
Hospital gloves
Etc...
