Making Hope’s Home wheelchair functional
Donation protected
Just last week my niece Hope Holt was an average 16 year old girl, learning to drive, playing in high school marching band and living her best life in Utah county. She popped her back on Tuesday morning and started experiencing numbness from the waist down. She was rushed to the hospital where they confirmed she had a, “stroke in the spinal column.” At first they were extremely hopeful that she would make a recovery. After a few days in the ICU, several tests later, they now have test results to confirm that the artery that controls the front part of her spine is blocked and there is no surgical procedure to correct it. She will not regain feeling, and will be wheelchair bound. Although she is in good spirits this was extremely hard news for her to process. Life will be forever different for her. She has an awesome boyfriend who is supportive, a great marching band teacher who wants to help her be able to continue to do what she loves. Even with this great support system as far as family and friends this is something you never expect to happen. She will spend the next 4 to 6 weeks in the hospital doing physical therapy to strengthen her upper body so that she will be able to take care of herself. They have extremely good medical insurance so they will NOT have to worry about hospital bills from this other than their yearly deductible. The money from this fundraiser will go towards making the Holt families two-story home and their vehicle wheelchair accessible. Due to the recent loss of a lot of jobs around the country the Holt family is currently operating on a single income. If you have anything that you are able to donate please do so if not please give us a share. All funds will go directly James and Becki Holt for the modifications they need to do to their house and vehicle. Thank you for your help with this!! ❤️
