My name's Desiree, and I am starting this GoFundMe for my best friend, Debbie, and her son, Roddy. Debbie and I have been friends since before the kids were born. Roddy is 14 and currently in the children's hospital in Portland awaiting a bone marrow transplant. He needs this transplant to save his life. Even with the transplant, his time may be limited. He has a list of things that he wants to do after he has this transplant.

His wishes are not grand; they're tangible. So I guess I'm trying to raise money so that after he gets the transplant, we can do the things on his list that he wants to do.

We can spend what time he has trying to accomplish getting through those things on his list. His mom Debbie has Parkinson's, so every day is a struggle. It's a struggle with her doctor's appointments in Goldendale and getting back and forth from her doctor up here in Goldendale where they live to get him down there to the children's hospital where they will be staying for the next 100 days. They've been staying there since November of last year. Roddy's looking at having this transplant in the next 10 days or so. Without the transplant, he wouldn't live for another month. With the transplant, they're hoping to give him at least 2 more years.

Roddy and my son have been best friends since they were born. So it's my goal to do whatever I can to help them make whatever time we have left together the best time possible.
