Alvin Marcus will be 30 years old this summer! In preparing for an amazing summer and as an early celebratory gift, I'd like to get something for Marcus that would make trips to the beach much easier. Marcus has always loved being in the water and relaxing with musubi's and music at the beach. To make trips to the beach possible, it takes planning and manpower. Marcus has been blessed with three younger brothers who have each followed their dad's example and taken their turns to carry him across the sand to reach the perfect spot.

It is difficult for Marcus physically to walk in the sand and he doesn't like the texture. If he isn't carried, it takes two others to walk him slowly across the sand to a spot to set him in a beach chair, with shade of course. Since his brothers have grown and are no longer available or close by to help take trips to the beach with him, we'd like to have a beach-accessible wheelchair to make sure Marcus no longer misses out on beach days and swims. If we had a beach-accessible wheelchair for him, then he would only need one person to get him to the beach, across the sand, and safely in the water. This has been a dream of his mother's for quite some time and now that it will be mom and Marcus together daily, it feels a beach wheelchair is a must.
