Making an Impact in Oakland!

Tax deductible
Covid has made the past couple of years difficult. Some people have found ways to cope with the struggles and changes in their lives, while others have not.

East Bay Rowing Club (EBRC: a non-profit 501(c)(3) helped me (and my newly befriended rowing mates) find magic every morning as we experience the joy and beauty of rowing on the estuary. I found an amazing community within EBRC and I’ve experienced first hand the impact it has made in the lives of fellow rowers and the Oakland community..

EBRC needs financial help. I’m stepping up to help raise these funds so that EBRC can continue to offer scholarships to those who cannot afford the sport.

Here’s why your contribution matters:

  • East Bay Rowing Club (EBRC), established Oakland Tech Rowing to promote the sport of competitive rowing for all students at Oakland Technical High School. Oakland Tech Rowing is one of only three public high school crew teams on the west coast.
  • It supports crucial need-based scholarships and programs for youngsters from all socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Since 2012, EBRC has supported any local high school athlete who wants to row. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
  • EBRC is committed to reducing health disparities in communities of color and breaking down those barriers.
  • EBRC also offers free community learn-to row sessions for Oakland adults. EBRC has members as young as 14 years and as old as 84 years old!

Maintaining boats and equipment to keep rowers and coaches safe, while keeping dues low for members comes at a significant cost. EBRC needs your support to sustain these programs.
