Hi there.
This is me, Wesley. You can se my cat Prints snuggled up to my chin. He does that. :)
It's a photo from a few years ago after I moved into my apartment in FL. Happy times, those.
Since then, I lost my job (company restructured) and had to move back in with family. However, things didn't go as planned. Small town with a bad job market, medical issues, and a variety of other papercuts have made things difficult.
But, there's a bit of hope. Two bits, actually. I have two friends in other states who've been talking about getting a roommate. I brought up the idea of moving in, and that I'm looking for options. They both liked the idea. The only issue is logistics. I need to be able to get there and support myself while I find a new job. That part shouldn't be hard. New city, larger area, more job opportunities.
Doing so would also help take some weight off my family's shoulders, as they've been helping out this past year. I want to lighten that burden and be able to repay them. Honestly, everything points to me moving as the best possible option right now.
But it's hard to save up to move with a spine injury and no job. Hard to find those when you can't reliably lift or even stand some days.
Moving would also allow me to give my cat a safe home indoors, like he deserves. My family already has cats, so my choice was to either abandon him to a shelter or have him live outside. I'd like to bring him back into the warmth.
I've done some estimation, and I still need to finalize things with my friends. I need to make plans, set travel dates, and set up a backup option if I don't hit my goal. But I'd like to go ahead and move out before the end of the month. I think it's time.
So if you'd be willing to help out, please consider donating. While I can't return the favor right now, I want to put myself into a position where I can pay it forward in the near future. That starts with a fresh start.
Thank you.
