Making a Difference: Travel Study to Kenya

Hi everyone!

I’m excited to share an amazing opportunity I have with Trinity Western University: a travel study to Nairobi & Eldoret, Kenya

During this trip, I’ll be learning about developmental economics and global business issues, all through a Christian perspective.

As a pre-med student, this trip is especially meaningful to me because I’ll gain insight into how innovative solutions are being used to overcome healthcare challenges and serve communities in need

God has placed in my heart a desire and passion for medical missions, and I am so excited for this opportunity that He has provided.

One highlight is a customized course on hospital planting in rural communities, focusing on how to bring sustainable healthcare to underserved areas through Christian missions.

Our focus will include:

✅ Week 1 (Nairobi): Studying developmental economics and visiting businesses with a focus on healthcare innovation.

✅ Week 2 (Eldoret): Working with Living Room Hospital, a healthcare organization providing compassionate palliative care to those with life-threatening illnesses. It was named Living Room to create a home-like, loving environment for patients. We’ll assist with patient care, management, and organizational efficiency to help them serve more people in need.

This experience will provide incredible insights into practical business methods, ethics, and innovative solutions to global challenges—all of which will be invaluable as I pursue my dream of combining medicine with global service.

I will be working throughout the semester a part-time job as a biology lab teacher for first-year university students to save up as much as I can, but it will come short to the amount I need.

Flight - $1800

Cost of travel study (includes stay, food, transportation, and fees) - $2500

Total: $4300
