Makeba’s Emergency Fund

My name is Makeba, also known as KEEBS. I’m experiencing long-term depression which is severely impacting my ability to take care of my self and my business as a full-time artist. The pandemic only made it easier for me to isolate myself from my friends and family, and the financial toll of working less in order to take care of myself alone has reached its tipping point. Every day there is a new obstacle and the culminating stress of it all has rendered me nearly catatonic. I don’t typically ask for help, not because I’m ashamed, but because I understand that everyone has their own issues and I don’t feel I have a right to ask without giving something back. I want nothing more than to share my gifts and earn a living. And this myth of my worth being tied to what I produce is only hurting me. I’m not ok, and I need help so that I can return to my purpose of making and sharing my art with the world. Please consider supporting me on this journey.
