Make The Fallout Shelter Book a Reality

Donation protected

Friends and fans of the Fallout Shelter and The Extended Play Sessions. What a year it's been...our last performance was March 13 , 2020 with The Restless Age...since then we've been doing what most of you have been doing...missing live music and trying to stay afloat and stay safe and healthy. In October we were dealt another blow with the temporary closing of the Mill that was the home for The Fallout Shelter. In January of 2021 the Fallout Shelter was approved to re-open pending our final inspection, one of the few businesses in the entire complex to be granted that status to date. COVID still has a grip on the state of Massachusetts so while we are planning to re-open for livestreaming and recording in April our plans for a "limited, spaced, masked audience" will be announced some time in May.

The truth of the matter is while we managed to stay afloat for this entire Pandemic, re-opening will have it's own set of financial challenges and we're making some changes inside to make things safer, more spaced and including some new air circulation improvements. In order to raise capital for these improvements we've finally decided to document the magic of The Fallout Shelter in a large 12" x 12", 170 page, full color, glossy "coffee table" book called FALLOUT SHELTER - Images, Words, Art. It will be the definitive work to try and portray the incredible music and community experiences the Fallout Shelter affords. The book will feature the photographs of Dan Busler, Ellen Snyder, Jake Jacobson, Suze Uttal and stills from the cameras of our video staff. Many of these photos have never been seen before publicly. The book will also feature quotes and stories from the artists who have played the legendary stage and the famed poster art the Fallout Shelter has become known for. It will a LIMITED EDITION of 300 copies and they will be signed and numbered by Bill Hurley and Dan Busler. The book is issued in a custom heavy sleeve and will be the perfect tag along item to have signed when you come to The Fallout Shelter to see artists featured in the book. The book will sell for $150.00 and you can reserve one of the 300 LIMITED EDITION copies of book by donating to the fundraiser here. By donating  $150.00 to this Fundraiser you will be purchasing 1 of the 300 Limited Edition copies of FALLOUT SHELTER - Images, Words, Art. The book has been printed and delivered as of this update.

This book will be a collectors item that documents a brief put potent part of Boston's live music history and a must have for the Fallout Shelter faithful. We can't wait for you to see it, open it up, read it and think back to all of the memorable moments captured at The Fallout Shelter. Thanks so much for your support over the years...you know who you are and you know we love you for it!!
