As you may already know, Spectrum Dance Company is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dance studio for kids and adults with learning and ability differences. We have come a long way since first opening our GoFundMe account in October. At most we have had 17 students enrolled in our program, and we had the pleasure of serving 28 different students throughout the course of the season.

In our first season we have learned a lot about the needs of the families we serve as well as individual needs to best accommodate our students. To best serve our current families and other families who have expressed interest in our program, we are looking to acquire our own studio space to call home.

Our first goal is to raise $10,000 to secure the property we have identified as a potential permanent location. We are actively holding fundraisers, applying for grants, and seeking sponsorship to reach our first financial goal.

Our next goal will be renovations. We estimate renovations to cost around $10,000. Once we acquire our space, we will be seeking fundings for renovations through sponsorship, grants, and in-kind donations.

Beyond our first two goals, we are raising funds to help us maintain our studio home and assist families who are in financial need. Many of our dancers have medical, therapeutic, and educational expenses that create a barrier to receiving equal access to extracurricular activities such as dance. Our families see the difference dance makes in their child's life, but the financial cost is a hardship many struggle to afford. As a studio, SDC aims to make dance accessible for all dancers, and we need the help of our community to make this possible.
