I first met Ray when my sister moved into the apartment below his on the Upper West Side in 1979. We were fast friends, which Ray made easy. I was immediately taken by his talent and equally matched wit. A lifelong performer, his voice and joy puts a smile on anyone lucky enough to witness. Ray is also as sharp as ever -- his humor and playfulness keeps me and many others laughing.
Anyone who meets him is lucky to know the warmth of his presence and his boundless generosity. He has been a dear friend to me through all of these years and I couldn't be more grateful.
Now, my friend is turning the monumental age of 80! To celebrate Ray, who has been the source of too many smiles to count, I wanted to help fulfill his lifelong dream of going on a river cruise.
Any contribution towards our goal is greatly appreciated. We hope to surprise him at his birthday celebration on June 1st.
