Phoenix, a beautiful proud female German Shepherd, and Pluto, a cuddly, fluffy male low-rider Retriever mix, couldn't be more different and yet they have one thing in common - they are Downey pound survivors, barely! Both were released to Forte Animal Rescue as "healthy" dogs. Well, it turns out, Phoenix needed surgery for Aspergillous, a nasal fungus infection that created a lesion in one of her nostrils, (hence the nosebleed) and Pluto not only has ringworm but also pneumonia. Had we known right from the start, we could have saved them some discomfort, and us some money by avoiding emergency vet visits.
Please help Forte Animal Rescue recover some of the medical costs. Phoenix is doing well but Pluto is still very lethargic, has no appetite, and we are waiting for more test results... we will update you regularly on their progress!
