Hola! My name is Dulce and I’m a single mother of a very energetic 2 year old.

It’s been my dream for over a decade to open my own coffee shop/cart. This fundraiser is the first step into making my dream a reality through all of your support.

Growing up I had no clue as to what I wanted to be as an adult. I originally wanted to be the first in my family to go to college, but one of my biggest struggles in life is my DACA status. Although I wanted to go to my dream school at UNC Asheville, my status made it extremely difficult to afford University, despite having lived here my whole life.

Fast forward to my working life, I began working in the service industry at the young age of 15. The truth is, I’ve tried leaving this industry a few times, but I always come back in need of that welcoming customer interaction and the adrenaline of a good rush.

Coffee had always been a suppressed passion, the driving force that united the family after at the beginning and end of the day. 5 years ago took a leap of faith and was given the opportunity to start my first barista job at Lincoln's Haberdashery. I’ve always loved coffee and dreamed of owning my own business. My son has only driven me more towards my goals and I hope that one day I can make coffee that will warm the spirits of everyone.
