I have been accepted into the Animal Science Program at SDSU in Brookings in the fall of 2025. I am going into the Pre-Veterinary Program and hopefully shooting for acceptance into Veterinary School. I was selected for the opportunity to go to any of the respected wildlife facilities World Strides had listed. They reached out to me through the Watertown High School, based on my future plans and my academic achievements. I am enrolled to go to their New York, Horse and Large Animal trip; however, it is a $5,000 tuition fee. As part of my education, I am required a specific amount of veterinary hours, and this program is offering me up to 80 hours of experience. I really need help with the funding, as I have to pay the tuition before being able to go. I have paid the enrollment fee that is nonrefundable, which means I basically pay the tuition or don't go. I am going to school to be a veterinarian specializing in livestock and large animals. This program is a week long, of spending time at an Equine Veterinary Hospital and getting a huge amount of hands-on experience! They are offering me the opportunity of learning almost every skill set that I will be learning in Vet School! This is huge for me, and I want to do whatever it takes to be the absolute best in my field. Any proceeds help! As I will have to pay for my own plane ticket and other expenses as well!
