Get these masses off of my uterus!
Donation protected
Hi! I am Cecilia. I am a 34 year old intact female (I hope I gave anyone who works in the veterinary field a lil chuckle there:) I was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid about year ago. Since then, it has grown to 14 centimeters in diameter (bigger than a grapefruit) and is causing me a world of pain and issues with my bladder and kidney! I recently was diagnosed with a second fibroid when I was hospitalized due to debilitating pain caused by the larger one.
I need to have both of these masses surgically removed, and it is possible. Between the emergency visits and the estimated cost of surgery, that is where my father, house mate and myself are in some trouble. We were already stretched thin with no savings, living from paycheck to paycheck like so many other Americans. My father is a retired Veteran, and my housemate and myself work full time to just keep the household afloat.
The surgery would take me out of the workplace from 6-12 weeks with me unable to provide any type of income at that time. The out of pocket costs are estimated to be just over $10,000 even with health insurance. (ER visits have totaled about $3,000 with co-pays and things not covered by insurance within the past two weeks)
Bottom line. We need help. The mortgage has to be paid, we have a plethora of rescued animals depending on our daily care and bills like everyone else. We do have another roommate moving in in a month, which will greatly help when I have to be in recovery. We are just trying to be as pro-active as possible and asking for help from those we know, love, and strangers who care. Thank you!
