Make More Black Welders

Hi my name is Larry and I'm raising funds to purchase welding equipment and training materials to teach some unskilled Black Laborers in the DMV area welding. I believe that one of the barriers to Black people in America establishing generational wealth in recent times is a lack of access to skills that lead to small business ownership and also higher paying jobs in general. A lot of predominantly Black High Schools and predominantly Black Middle Schools across the U.S. have removed a lot of the skills programs that all but guarantee decent jobs to young Black Men and Women right out of High school. I fully understand that this will action alone will not fix all the problems Black People are facing in America but I do see this as a step in the right direction. I already have a certified welder who has agreed to donate his time free of charge to lead the training as long as I can provide the equipment required and a location. This fundraiser will hopefully satisfy one of the requirements. The last obstacle in my way is finding a location in Alexandria, VA to host the training Monday through Friday 7pm to 9pm. The equipment purchased will include a stick welder, MIG welder, TIG welder, welding wire, welding hoods, gloves, boots, hand tools, grinders,, and study materials. I will post receipts every step of the way and do my best to keep everyone updated on this project.
