My daughter, Marley, has been presented with the opportunity of a lifetime. Her 8th grade history/math teacher, Mrs. Sonya Morris, has been teaching for 33 years and retiring this year. For 10 of those 33 years, she has taken students on an educational tour from Boston to Washington, D.C. They fly from Los Angeles to Boston. The first two days are spent in Boston where they will walk The Freedom Trail, explore Faneuil Hall, tour Lexington & Concord, visit USS Constitution, and take a Duck Boat tour. On day 3, they get to visit New York: midtown walking tour that includes Rockefeller, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square, Grand Central, and Empire State. On day 4, they continue to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, then to see Trinity Church, Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy, 9/11 Memorial, and even get to watch a Broadway show!! On day 5, they travel to Philadelphia for a quick tour of Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin's grave, and the Friendship Meeting House. On day 6, they spend the day in Washington, D.C. visiting the Capitol, Supreme Court, Mount Vernon, Arlington, and then do all the major war memorials and monuments in the evening to get all the lighted effects. On day 7, the final day, they visit the Holocaust Museum and several museums in the National Mall.
Needless to say, this is a pretty full and amazing trip. She is beyond excited for this experience. We appreciate any amount of help to make this educational trip happen for her!
These funds will be used toward the overall cost of the trip which covers airfare, hotel, security, buses, and food.
