My husband has a very rare and unusual grade 4 brain cancer. The acronym for it is HPAP, otherwise known as a high grade glioma with plemorphic and pseudo capillary features . The tumor was discovered while he was at work on a locomotive where he had two grand mal seizures back to back. He wants to travel to Florida to see family, he wants to go to the Creation Museum, to the Grand Canyon, White Sands, and Washington DC.
This cancer took his job from him, and I now care for him full-time. It has been a rough road, but we are so blessed by God with great friends and family.
Very little is known about his particular brain tumor. So far he has had surgery, radiation, two types of oral chemotherapy, and a tumor treating field device. Because of the rarity, he has three major Medical Center’s that follow his case, and a fourth where he receives a specialized scan that tells us if his tumor is dormant or active this requires a lot of co-pays, miles on our vehicle, and of course there’s the expenses for the medication’s.
Tony worked for 20 years on the rails and also spent seven years in the Air Force. He is a very proud veteran, a loving husband, a wonderful father and grandfather.
We thank God for every day we are blessed with Tony. I thank God for you that you read his story and I asked that you pray for us, share his story and if you’re able to give, I thank you for that.
