Make Jessica Awesome Again
Donation protected

Jessica is an awesome human being. She'd tell you that herself. When my wife, Kat – one of Jessica's besties – was out of town for a week, Jess showed up unannounced at my doorstep with a plateful of homemade cookies. Yes, Jess really is that awesome.
Not five days later, while selflessly offering help to a stranded motorist, she was the victim of a terrible traffic accident. Typical Jessica, by all accounts: always there to help a friend or even a stranger in need. The accident was awful. Jessica suffered multiple skull fractures, brain contusions and swelling, leaving her in a medically induced coma in intensive care at the Providence Hospital, Everett. Also injured at the scene was fellow Good Samaritan Kyle Diggs*, who had also pulled over to help. We were all overjoyed when she regained consciousness and her condition began to improve. After 10 days in intensive care, she's now been transferred to Bethany Pacific to continue her recovery and begin rehabilitation.
Even for a feisty fighter like Jess, it's going to be a long, hard road to recovery, so we've started this GoFundMe campaign to help Jess and her husband Terry deal with the mountain of medical, legal, and other unanticipated expenses that quickly overwhelm even the best of us when tragedies like this happen.
Terry and Jessica are a unique, beautiful, funny couple with a rich, warm, and diverse group of loving family and friends - a testament to their own unique and welcoming characters. Mountlake Terrace, Washington is their home - a home they share with their cats, Edward and Baku, and beloved ferrets, Rosie and Hyacinth. Terry is a graphic artist who works as a chef at a small local deli. Jessica recently completed her graduate studies in Nutrition at Bastyr University and works as the office manager for a small Seattle-area software company.
Please donate whatever you can afford to help get Jessica back to being awesome again. You never know, the next person she reaches out to help will be someone just like you. Heartfelt thanks.
