Douglas had the worst year of his life in 2025. He went through a divorce in April (of nearly 25 years), he went through a strike, he has a near 22-year-old son ghosting him over separating from his mother, and he has been duped by an EPO/bad health care system. Otherwise described as 'Medical Switching' by some well-known analysts. With good health care coverage. Douglas had a major health hospital and a large insurance company perform administrative permutation in making him believe his preventive care was covered. Both entities took zero accountability for screening and doing their job. The medical clinic/hospital even took a health card with the wrong doctor listed on its face and EPO listed in bold letters located in the lower right-hand corner. Therefore, both entities had no conscience in sticking it to a guy that already had a horrible 2025 with a $1,300 medical bill that should have been covered. But both entities played games in order to tell him, after the fact, "Your doctor was out of network!".

The real Clincher is the EPO title some insurance genius developed and few even know what it amounts to? An inquisitive mind wonders? Where is THE SYSTEM hiding all the doctors??? Why is a patient threatened with losing the mystical doctor they spent 8 hrs. of their life trying to find? Do a little research, and one quickly finds the EPO Establishment is quick to reveal nothing in their prescribed realm is very certain. Bills are the only thing they are certain about!!!! Get a in-network doctor and the health care system threatens you of losing it within a month-and-a-half of your In-Network appointment. Douglas has been given actual threat letters from the insurance company, with a doctor they told him is in network and placed on a health card?????? Someone under 'The No Surprises Act' needs to help eliminate this great American Canard!!!

Douglas even holds a letter from his union that specifically states, 'You can rest easy knowing you have good health care coverage.' Douglas has not rested very easy knowing he has to refinance a house, and medical system ineptitude pushed its politics as well as its ability to damage his good credit over a bill that should never have been submitted under false pretenses. If either the large facility or the health care provider had done their job in the screening process, this hard working man would have never been admitted. He would have been told up front, "The doctor you are seeing is out of network. Therefore, you will be paying for your preventive care out of pocket." Instead, both entities chose to be corrupt, non-transparent, and were outright misleading.
