If any of you know Freida, you know she is an uber generous soul who champions everyone's dreams and pleasure. The time has come to return that favor by helping her fulfill a longtime vision but first a story ...

Freida has had a dream of going to Brazil for almost THIRTY YEARS! Her love of Brazil found her in the Brazilian Dance community in 1993 when she was in her first parade in Humboldt.

Since that introduction, she has attended and danced at Carnaval in the Mission (San Francisco) for over 20 years!

Three years ago, her love of Brazil found her at the California Brazil Camp in Cazadero, CA, inspired by her Freedom Summer 2022 tour. This has become her new Burning Man - a new family and community that feels like Brazil Dance & Music Heaven. (And those of you that know Burning Man, and the devotion and connection that is born as a result, you know this is a BIG DEAL for Freida.)

Those three years she was also part of the Brazil Camp Kitchen Volunteer Team, working Front of House and bringing her love of food and community to this special team of Brazil Camp. Two weeks of the most amazing food, dance, music and connection.

The most magical part, she entered a special drawing on the 25th Anniversary of Brazil Camp. They had a contest to win a one-month Dance Intensive IN BRAZIL (Salvador, Bahia) with Freida's meastra, Rosangela Silvestre. According to Freida: "Rosangela's dance classes at Brazil Camp have awakened within me a deep sense of my spirituality and the realm of embodiment through dance. It is like coming home to an ancient part of me."

Long story short, she entered the drawing for Rosangela's Dance Intensive and WON! Her dream of going to Brazil was HERE!

When she won the dance intensive, she received a standing ovation from the community. She realized at that moment that this Brazil Camp community actually saw HER (in her devotion, love and creativity) and that she was no longer the "new person" but an integral part of the community.

Freida is unable to take all 4 weeks off from work to be a part of the dance training, however she has committed to going for two weeks. She is planning to be in Salvador, Bahia from January 18-February 4.

Where we come in to help Freida is with contributions to cover her flights, accommodations and other travel expenses as that is not included in the Dance Training.

$2,500 is the her budget to pay for airplane tickets from San Francisco to Brazil, lodging and and meals. She humbly welcomes any financial support that feels good to you.
