Make Faith's Japan Study Trip a Reality
Donation protected
Hello everyone!
My name is Faith Moore. I am an undergraduate at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas. I am seeking the opportunity to do a two-week study abroad summer program in Tokyo, Japan, in July 2025 through J. F. Oberlin University.
The two-week program is the perfect fit for me because, as many of you may know, I deal with a lot of chronic health issues that can make being away from home for extended periods of time (say, a full semester study abroad) extremely hard. So, when I learned about the opportunity of this program, I knew it would be the best way to achieve my dreams of studying abroad while not having to juggle long-term healthcare in a foreign country.
The main barrier to this goal is money. As a school bus driver, I don't make much money, and I'm still paying down various medical and education bills. So, while I am saving money for this trip, it's not going to be enough before the trip, and the advisors said they don't know if this program will be available in 2026.
I have roughly set out how the money I am raising would be used:
Flight: $3500
Food: $350
Travel (Trains): $350
As a thank you for donating to help me with this opportunity, please message me the types (accessories, kitchenware, souvenirs, etc.) and/or themes (animals, various Japanese series, etc.) you like. I will do my best to find a thank-you gift while I'm in Japan.
Thank you so much for any amount that you can afford to help me achieve this dream.
