Make Ezra Wilder's Name Official
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Ezra! I'm a 20-something living in the American South, and with your help I can try and fulfill one of my greatest dreams: legally changing my name. But there's a few hurdles to this - my state requires my petition be published in the news, and a court hearing which I do not have adequate clothing for.
Ever since I was small, I've wanted a different name. At first I chose tacky ones, and then grew more deliberate as I got older and (hopefully) wiser and smarter. I've bounced around between a few, but now I think I've finally settled on one I'd be proud to have on all my legal documents!
Perhaps the day is finally here, and perhaps that day is today, or tomorrow, or next week. Maybe today, 'Ezra Wilder' will no longer be a pipe dream imagined by a lost 8-year-old, and no longer be a pen name quietly signed on pieces of scrap paper. 'Ezra Wilder' will be a name I'm proud to have.
In short, this fundraiser is asking for the following:
- Filing fee, ranging between $150 and $200.
- Publishing fee, ranging between $50 and $150.
- Court-appropriate attire, at least $130 before taxes and shipping.
- Lawyer fee of $800.
- Fees for updating legal documents, such as driver's license, birth certificate, and social security, at least $55.
All excess funds will be used to update further legal documents and other necessities, or else donated to the Trans Lifeline.
