Make Dorian's Art Event Possible

Hello, my name is Dorian Emerson Munroe. I'm an art curator in the San Francisco Bay Area.

For the past 3 years, I have been curating art shows in San Francisco. What started off as a hobby has become a passion and career path. I started off small, with my first show taking place in an old paint shop, and have evolved to becoming an active participant in the local scene.

3 years later, I'm at a crossroads. I have plans to be involved in the premiere event of San Francisco Art Week, but will need some assistance to afford the venue I've secured for the event. I was able to secure an ideal space for an art festival but need additional support to make it happen.

The show, titled Beautiful Distorted, is a group exhibit featuring artworks that embody the notion of finding beauty within the chaos; with various expressions of how that looks, feels, and sounds to us all.

The event will feature over 40+ local artists, mediums including paint on canvas, photography, and screen printing; and will take place Friday, January 31st- Sunday February 2nd.

Financial support is necessary in order to make this dream come true. Expenses include space rental, art installation, installation equipment, and staff. All money collected will go directly towards support of the show. Please help me make this happen.

This is my first GoFundMe. I normally have a tough time asking for help and explored other avenues before putting this together. But with the show set to begin in less than a week I'm looking to my family and community for support. Please let me know if you have any questions.
