The Navajo Prep Gavelin' Eagles are a team of hard-working, brave, insightful young people who are making a splash in the Speech & Debate world. Competitive speech and debate in the USA has long been an activity that caters primarily to White students from wealthy, heavily populated areas. It is a steep climb for students like ours: NPS's student body is almost 100% Indigenous, and we are located 3 hours from most tournaments. At this point, we still sometimes have to limit our numbers and tell some kids they can't compete, or we have to get our kids up as early as 3 AM so that we can do a competition in one day instead of going down the night before and getting a hotel. These are sacrifices most other teams don't even have to think about!

Your contribution can make a real difference for our kids, which they can then pass on to their entire community!
