Help support ‘Transform Healthcare Cambodia’ with us.
Hi there,
I’m Nikki, second year mental health nursing student, currently studying at Teeside University.
I feel very fortunate to have been selected to work in partnership with this incredible charity, Transform healthcare Cambodia. Alongside 11 other student nurses across various nursing fields.
we will be departing to Cambodia 26th June- 12th July. During this period myself along with other students will be volunteering within multiple areas such as Battambang referral hospital, Roka community hospital whilst also promoting health promotion within the villages.
To provide healthcare to children, families, and communities of Cambodia to create a positive change, as well as striving to educate our Cambodia colleagues to provide a sustainable healthcare system and opportunities for growth.
In 1975 to 1979 the Khmer Rouge regime carried out a brutal genocide, during which an estimated 1.5 to 3 million individuals nearly a quarter of Cambodia’s population were killed or died from starvation, disease, and overwork. Many Cambodia citizens were forced into brutal camps. The regime targeted intellectuals or professionals such as doctors, nurses and politicians. The regime wanted to return the country into ‘year zero.’
Cambodias history is one of resiliences and survival, the people of Cambodia have faced immense challenges from the devastation of the Khmer Rouge era.
Today, Cambodia is working to rebuild its society, heritage and move into the future. Despite its tumultuous past, Cambodia remains a country of rich traditions, strong communities, and an enduring of hope for a better tomorrow.
Your generous contributions will directly impact the lives of Cambodia people, funding healthcare supplies, and supporting the work of ‘Transform healthcare Cambodia.’
The goal is not just to provide short-term relief but to create lasting, positive change by empowering communities to lift them selves out of poverty.
Every donation goes towards creating meaningful and lasting change. Together we can ensure children have the chance to get the best possible start to grow, learn and thrive in an environment of hope and opportunity, whilst also supporting Cambodia people with effective, and sustainable healthcare.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside ‘transform healthcare Cambodia’ in making a positive difference. Please consider making a donation today and be part of the transformation. Your support can help make a real difference in Cambodia.
Thank you in advance.
