Let's Make a Difference for Meghan! The Bluefish team recently learned that Meghan (the 33-year-old stepdaughter of our office manager Jill and mom of two young girls) has been told by her doctor that her rare and aggressive form of breast cancer has returned, and is now in her abdomen (please read below for Meghan's own thoughts about this latest step on her journey).
While Meghan currently has good insurance through her work, it is anticipated that there will be medical bills and other expenses related to her illness that will need to be covered. Please consider donating to help Meghan, Rob, Boston and Blakelee as they navigate this tough situation.
In Meghan's own words: "On Thursday, November 15th I was told my breast cancer had returned in my abdomen. Metastasized Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
I had been having some bloating and pain in my stomach and abdomen for the whole Month of October but due to having another mild procedure done at the end of September I thought it was due to that. When symptoms worsened in The first week of November I knew I couldn’t wait any longer so I called my dr. I had a CT scan, and a surgical biopsy.
At this point my option is chemo. Chemo has to shrink the mass or I will have to start planning. It’s hard to even say that, to even think that. Staying positive is a challenge during a time when those are your options.
Surgery is not an option and neither is radiation because of the location of the cancer.
I started chemo last week and will have another dose this week. I then get a week off. This cycle will last 9 cycles as long as the cancer responds."
Thank you for your support and prayers for Meghan.
Sincerely, the Bluefish Family
