Hello friends, family and fellow humans. This GoFundMe is set up to help out an amazing human: Caitlin and her beloved family Dave and their two kiddos Easton and Elle.
As some of you may know, Caitlin has been sick for the past month or so and has spent the past couple weeks more aggressively trying to figure out what's going on. She was admitted to the hospital a couple weeks back with debilitating abdominal pain. After an extensive workup, her medical team found her abdomen was full of lymphangiomas. These are tumors filled with lymphatic fluid. They were growing around and pushing up against many of her organs thus making her extremely sick. It is definitely an unusual circumstance, as these tumors are more commonly present in childhood in more surface type locations like the neck and chest, and are removed early on. Her doctors think that these tumors have been with her for a long time (possibly forever), but growing slowly. Fortunately, these types of tumor are usually benign. But there is no way to know for sure until the tissues can be sent to and analyzed by her medical team.
On Thursday, October 1st, Caitlin underwent a long and extensive surgery where her medical team removed 10 inches of her intestines, one of her adrenals, part of her kidney and her entire spleen. The tumor had a hard shell and was like nothing the surgeons had ever seen and also one of the biggest surgeries they have ever done at the hospital.
Today, Caitlin is beginning to heal. She and her family are moving forward and are optimistic about the future. But this road to recovery is going to be a long and difficult one and has already been emotionally and financially draining on her and her family. And complicated by the pandemic, Caitlin has been unable to hug her husband, son or daughter in almost 3 weeks.
This GoFundMe me is being set up to help Cait and her family offset the financial burden they are dealing with related to hospital bills, child care and the unforeseen situation of Cait and Dave’s household going from two incomes to one.
Caitlin is a beautiful human, a strong woman, mother, wife, sister, daughter and dear friend to so many, not to mention a respected member of her community. She is married to Dave, a professional golfer and they have two beautiful children Easton (five) and Elle (two). Caitlin is a frontline worker, serving her community of Carmel where she works as a school psychologist. She has given so much of herself and this is a call for us to give back to her and come together for her and her family. They truly need all the support they can get right now. Please consider donating to help her family. Any amount is appreciated.
There is also a meal train set up to help her husband Dave as he is managing the home front with the two kiddos, while also trying to work. Additionally, the meal train will continue for a bit when Cait gets home. Here is the link:

Additionally when Caitlin is able to eat again, she would very much appreciate some healthy meal options that are NOT hospital food. When this time comes, we will send an update with more information about how you can help and where to send her food.
