My name is MaKayla Lysinger. I am married and together we have 4 small children, Josh, Jayla, Jon and Jace. I have been dealing with losing my vision for a little over a year now. My regular Dr, after running multiple tests, referred us to see an eye specialist and a neurologist. After many months of waiting I finally seen the eye specialist the end of January. He ran tests and took multiple images of my eyes and my optic nerve, where he found out I have swelling on my brain that is putting pressure on my optic nerve causing me to lose my vision. I have already lost quite a bit of my lower parifrial vision and some to the right side of one eye. He diagnosed me with Papilledema, and informed me that if the cause wasn't found and treated I am slowly going blind and risk being eventually permanently blind. I am no longer able to work or drive and my husband has been taking off alot for my appointments and testing. I seen the eye specialist for my 1 month follow up where he found that the swelling has gotten worse and I have lost even more of my vision. Along with the vision loss I deal with constant pressure behind my eyes that makes them feel like they are going to literally pop out of my head, ringing and swooshing sounds, and the constant feeling of needing to pop my ears to relieve pressure. We are being sent to Mizzou in Columbia as an emergent appointment just 4 days after our follow up. I don't usually ask for help but bills continue to come in and the extra added expenses of driving back and forth to Columbia and hotels to stay the night before for early appointments among other unexpected expenses are adding up, and with not having the usual income it makes it difficult.
Anything is greatly appreciated Along with all the prayers we can get that the drs can find out the cause and fix this before my damage is done to my vision that is irreversible. Thank you all and God bless.
