My good friend and co-worker's family is in need. Carlita is a Health Care Worker at Acacia Ty Mawr, in Shawnigan Lake, and has 3 young children. On Wednesday January 10th Makayla (10years old) was taken to her doctor due to vomiting. She was immediately transfered to CDH for further testing. She was admitted at 0230 and then transferred to VGH the following day.  After an Echo she was then ordered to be transferred to BC Childrens.  Her diagnosis is heart failure.  Her mom is at her side.

So for those who (family and friends) are wondering.. The doctors at both CDH and VGH have been running lots of tests on Makayla. And honestly I haven't seen someone so strong throughout it all. We have some answers to what is going on. Makayla has heart failure and the right side of her heart is quite large. It might have something to do with her lungs. We are not 100% sure yet.. So to figure out what's causing it, we will be going to BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Its been a long few days for all of us and more to come. We are so thankful to have such an awesome health care system and they will be working hard to get Makayla better. Thank you for all the out pouring support from our amazing family and friends. I will try and keep everyone updated on Makayla when we hear any further information..

The money raised will be used to ease some of the costs accrued from travel, food and daily cost of living expenses while Carlita and Stacy take time off work to be with Makayla at BC Children's hospital. They will be there with her two younger siblings at Ronald McDonald house.
