Makayla to get to WKF World Karate Championships
Donation protected
My name is Makayla Tasevska; I’m 16 years old and have just been selected to take part in the WKF World Karate Championships in Turkey, which will be held this October.
I will be competing in Kumite under -59kg junior females.
As this is a Non-fundable event, I have to fund my own way there. Therefore, I’m looking for as much support and help as possible to be able to Pursue my dreams.
My journey started in Karate at the age of 6, at the time, I was a very shy little girl that didn’t like putting herself out there. Though my Karate journey has taught me so much, it has made me the person I am today. Karate taught me to stand up for myself, to have resilience, respect, confidence, focus, etc.
Shortly after my Karate journey started, I decided to try competitions. I instantly fell in love with the sport even more and never looked back. I had made it my dream to one day be able to Compete in the Junior world championship.
Competing in many local tournaments, nationals, Australian opens, and Oceania’s has brought me to where I am today. Every time I have completed, words cannot describe the feeling of standing on the mat and fighting with everything I have; I then know that all the hard training and sacrifice I have to make is worth it.
