MaKayla Strong

Hi, my name is Misty Amos, and I am raising money for one of my "adopted" daughters - MaKayla Russell.

 

They always say...you can't keep a good girl down! Well, that is true about MaKayla Russell. But, this spunky, energetic, funny, and loveable 8-year-old has been given a challenging situation to overcome.

MaKayla had an arm injury early in 2022, and a bump appeared but continued to grow. After months of follow-up, a biopsy was done, and it turned out to be cancer (Rhabdomyosarcoma). Her cancer is in her left arm, lymph nodes and bone marrow.  She starts chemo May 23, 2022 and will have it every week for the next 18 months.   6 - 8 weeks into her chemo treatment, they will hopefully be able to get additional treatment such as radiation proton therapy.

 

Coming from a very active family, MaKayla plays hockey for the Roanoke Lady Dawgs, while brother Wyatt plays for the Roanoke Junior Dawgs and Owen is a soccer star.
