Makaton Friendly Canterbury

We are looking to raise £4000 to support the #MakatonFriendlyCanterbury Intiative.

Being able to communicate is one of the most important skills we need in life.  Almost everything we do involves communication; everyday tasks such as learning at school, asking for food and drink, sorting out problems, making friends and having fun. These all rely on our ability to communicate with each other.

By donating to the #MakatonFriendlyCanterbury initiative you are helping to cover the cost of training, resources and delivery of  Makaton sessions to upskill staff and organisations within the Canterbury Area.

By working in partnership with local families, groups and The Makaton Charity; organisations are making a meaningful change to improve the communication and inclusivity for all within the Canterbury area.

The Makaton Friendly Canterbury initiative needs 40 organisations, community groups & shops in the Canterbury area to sign up. This will make Canterbury the first Makaton Friendly city in the world!!

Please visit the Makaton Charity website for more information and to sign up
